An American Girl Doll Holiday Gathering...

12.08.2013

We had our mom, daughter and dolls holiday party last night.  I had a baby shower to attend and help out with in the morning and early afternoon and then rushed home to prepare for our little evening of fun!  It was cozy and crafty and a perfect way to spend a bitter cold evening.

Our evening consisted of some crafting of course!  We started with some little gingerbread house decorating.  I had pre-assembled the little houses for the girls the night before (I highly recommend this so that the houses are sturdy enough when time for decorating).

Here are the completed houses...Zoey's is the house on the far right with the pink circles on the door.

Our food this year was a fruit tray along with some veggies, popcorn, peanuts and pizza and some mulled hot cider.  Yum!  I had made some gluten-free pumpkin bars for the moms.

After decorating the gingerbread houses and having dinner we exchanged gifts.  This year we tried to make the gifts that the dolls exchanged with one another homemade or something fun found at the dollar store.

After our gift exchange we made a little snowman door hanger.  This was a little craft set that I had found at the dollar store and it was perfect!

Another craft that we did was to make some holiday luminaries/lights for the dolls Christmas table.  These turned out so pretty!

Aren't they sweet?

Here are the girls this year with their dolls.

Such a fun way to get into the spirit of things!
