4th of July Picnic Layout

7.02.2021

I was having fun going through old photos earlier this week looking for pictures from past Fourth of July celebrations and happened upon this cuteness and had to put them on a page! Zoey was soooooo little! I remember loving the dress that she was wearing...I think she got it from her Grandma Jahnke. The buttons were little ladybugs...so sweet!

On this layout I used the old print your journaling on a piece of vellum paper trick so that you can kind of still see the patterned paper through the words. I wish I had a 12x12 printer so badly, but until I do, this will be a workaround.

The Stars, Stripes + Sparklers collection from Simple Stories is a perfect fit for layouts about summer picnics, patriotic trips, and of course, Fourth of July activities! It's a pretty basic set with patterned papers and a 12x12 sticker sheet. The only things I added to the collection to create this layout was a sheet of their textured cardstock (white w/dots), some Color Vibe Foam Alpha Stickers, and some brads from the Family Fun collection.

Love the little sticker banner...

And that sweet little bicycle sticker too! A great way to add a little "oomph" to your page is to simple add some three dimensional adhesive behind basic cardstock stickers. It just adds a bit of dimension to your page and makes it just a bit more special in my opinion.

We haven't figure out here yet what we'll be doing for the Fourth of July this year but I'm sure it will be something fun! Wherever you are, I hope it's a safe and happy holiday (if you celebrate) for you and yours!

XO,

Jen
