Sharing a New Mini!

7.01.2020

I've had this Short Story kit from Story By Stacy/Close To My Heart for awhile now. I just haven't been able to decide what photos to use with it. Today I was thinking about how much I miss getting together with friends due to the pandemic and ended up choosing pictures from a special birthday trip to Madison from last summer that was for Zoey, her friends and their moms (lucky me!).

I love the color themes for all of the kits but I chose the kit with the Lagoon album and it's perfect! Neutral enough for a project using pictures of teens and still bright and fun! The title page actually features the only item that isn't found in the kit itself and is a Picture My Life card from a previous CTMH collection (So Much Happy, X7241E).

Creating this mini was an absolute snap to put together. I used the included stickers, die-cuts, chipboards and alphas and was done! The longest task was literally trimming my photos and cutting the patterned papers the way I wanted them.

These kids are so much fun! Our trip started off with a stop to the car rental place...check out this picture of our very own "Enterprise Guys"! They certainly made the 4 hour car ride entertaining.

I'm just going to go ahead now and share photos of each page and spread.

I haven't handwritten on a project in quite some time but as you can see here I did for this project. It was nice not to have to turn on the printer and fuss with it and I actually find that I like my handwriting more in mini-books for some reason. Usually because they are telling a personal story and are being given to someone special - in this case, to Zoey.

The ultimate highlight of the trip was attending a Greta Van Fleet concert. Pretty darn cool birthday.

Photos of the band and concert were taken by Zoey's friend David. He kindly sent these to me and is letting me use them.

This book came together for me in just a few hours time this afternoon! Usually mini-books take me at least a week working off and on when I have the time. It was fun working on something and then having the end result to look at and share with others right away. Makes me want to check out all of the other Story By Stacy products!

XO,

Jen
