Playing with Hearth & Home | Simple Stories

1.04.2022

Good morning scrapbook friends! Just popping on quick here this morning to share this layout that I put together using the beautiful Hearth & Home collection from Simple Stories. I am a sucker for collections that feature earth tones. I also love it when a somewhat "themed" kit works in multiple arenas as far as scrapbook layouts are concerned. I had fun using this collection sharing pictures of Zoey and our dog Bowie (yes, they rhyme!) on a little hiking adventure from this past fall.

I stuck with a traditional grid-style backdrop for my page but made it a bit more interesting simply by using three dimensional adhesive behind all of my squares. I also used my sewing machine to add a bit of stitching to two of my squares.

Also adding a bit of interest are the scattering of my enamel dots here and there on the flowers. Something so little but they add just a little bit of shine and extra fun to a page don't you think?

A common theme around here lately is my love of printing journaling on to vellum paper and then attaching it to my layout. Sometimes it will go right on to my cardstock or sometimes I measure a printing block to fit on to a tag or journaling square (pictured above). I use and love the Plus Permanent Vellum Glue Dispenser that can be found at A Cherry On Top for adhereing my vellum to my layouts.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Wishing you a creative day!

XO,
Jen
